  • One of the must things to do in the DC area. Pay your respect to 2 presidents, Robert Todd Lincoln and many other famous Americans. Witness the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier, visit Arlington house, and just walk the grounds. See some cherry in the spring, or the folliage in the fall when the weather's cool.

  • My 14 year old daughter expected a churchyard. Sort of. She didn't anticipate the amount of walking to be done on this impressive national burial ground. You can take the little tour-train, but hey, given what the soldiers buried here have gone through, some walking is the least one can do. After visiting Lee's house and certainly after the changing of the guard ceremony, she was impressed and wouldn't want to have missed this monument and tribute to the US soldiers.

  • Amazing place, full of history and wonder of those who gave their lives for the United States of America. Our tour guide, Michael, was very informative and knowledgeable. The changing of the guard is a must see event. Please be respectful however, and remember to silence phones and to not take pictures of those going through a funeral. Wonderful place overall.

  • +JMJ Lived in Virginia for over 20 years and never made the opportunity to visit the Arlington Cemetery. I am so happy that I was able to do so when relatives of a friend traveled from AZ. Everything about the Arlington Cemetery is very beautiful! Very serene, even with many, many visitors present. Didn't have much time to visit graves, but glad to be able to see the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Didn't see the changing of the Guard, but the presence of the Guard was still very impressive. To coin the phrase..."Freedom is not free!" Heartfelt gratitude for all who have served striving to maintain the inalienable rights of all Americans. History depicts lots of hardships. But, still, when any people believing in the one True God (of love and mercy) strive to see others as human beings deserving of life, liberty and justice, then will military service cease. However, until that time, let us exclaim in the words of Patrick Henry, "Give me liberty or give me death!" Eternal rest be granted to all therein at Arlington National Cemetery.

  • I don't know how anyone could rate this less than 5 stars. I would rate it higher if possible. Absolutely amazing experience for the entire family that helped us all have a greater appreciation for those who serve and the sacrifices made by them and their loved ones. Grounds are well manicured as you would expect, but I have to say, if you have the opportunity to go in November when the leaves are changing, it's even more amazing. Thank you to all who have served and love and honor those who do.
